End of Spring

youth ‘s  ebbed

my health ‘s worn  away

my skin ‘s   wrinkled

my hair ‘s  turned gray.

My joints once sturdy

now quake and ache

my hands once steady

now noticeably shake .

It’s been a long journey

Sprinkled with memories

Dim and bright

Daubed with deeds

Wrong and right

Dotted with  sweet successes

and many  foul failures.

i tried to think this poem through and in my middle age, i am gripped with worry that eventually, i will lose that spring of age. great insight on this poem. and may you had the best days ahead.

  46. you’ve written a song the whole world can sing!

  47. With every spring, must come the inevitable winter. Youth, like spring, cannot last forever.
A perfect reflection of life, in its realist, truest form. Strong imagery.

  48. I walk along with you…
    well put!

  51. The story of all of our lives….so well written. I loved it my friend 🙂

  52. Wow! The first two stanzas rhyme and flow so well that I was not expecting the third stanza break with my expectations as a reader. That last stanza could be its own poem as well.

  53. but they are all part of the journey and each season can be appreciated for what it brings…nicely written.

  54. a journey when time goes fast, excellent imagery friend as always 🙂

  55. Very fine reflection of one’s journey through life….and what one may consider as they age…was a very excellent poem to read.

  56. The message of this poem is a reality that we will all face sooner or later. Old age is bound to come…the most important is preparing for it adequately and appropriately.
